It sounds like a missing development package. Does Ubuntu have any kdebase*-devel packages?
I'll have a version up with "Open with Dolphin" soon, but I'm finishing up my degree, and have very little time right now. Also, I don't know any of the languages with translations, so that would be an untranslated string for now.
Could you give more details about the wrong folder sizes? It should behave identically to KDirStat 1.6/CVS.

I was missing libkonq5-dev and kdelibs5-dev. Now it works.
Take your time. Its not a must have tool.
My notebook with ubuntu gives correct sizes, but my secondary disk of 1 TB in my sabayon desktop doesnt look ok. Will post screenshots later...

My system is 1.8TB, of which df reports that 982GB are used. kdirstat on the other hand reports that only 456GB are used.

OK, here is a file which is ignored by kdirstat. This same problem has been reported by me on the original kdirstat and has been fixed in CVS (see link)

I checked, and that patch is already applied to this code. I only forked from CVS in February.
The problem is from the automake to cmake conversion. I built a cmake file from scratch instead of porting the old automake and autoconf files. I'll look into it in a few days.

I have compared kdirstat and k4dirstat side by side, and - k4dirstat shows much less used space. E.g. it just does not recognize the file size of my virtualbox drives (.vdi). Instead of showing them with the actual GB-size it just shows them as 0 Byte size! It also misinterpretes the file size of the soprano-virtuoso.db file in ~/.kde/share/apps/nepomuk/repository/main/data/ (another 2,5 GB missing)!

Alright, then it's another bug. On my system, K4DirStat has no problem with multi-gigabyte files, and the code is the same as KDirStat, so I think it's still a problem with setting up CMake properly.

There's no Spanish translation yet. I'm not even sure if the translations work at all yet, since I haven't managed to get my KDE install to switch to German. Thanks for the help!
